"I can't see or read the screen...it is growing dark...please help me !!"
When your Memory Craft MC 8000 or MC 5700 is otherwise working fine but the LCD display screen begins to grow darker and you find you just can't read it, the only thing you can do is replace the LCD screen, or buy a new machine, but thank goodness there is an affordable replacement.
DON'T PANIC !!
The first thing you will need to do is Test Your Machine to make sure there are not other more serious issues at play.

Download the Janome MC 5700 TOUCHSCREEN RESET Instructions
(Usually saves directly into your "Downloads" folder or "Desktop")
The Screen Reset is simply designed to align the "+" marks and will not improve the dimness issue or affect anything else, it just re-aligns the position of the button icons. If it does not re-align properly then there is likely to be a problem with the main "A" Board as well.
Only touch the 4 floating + positions, do not touch the "PRESS + MARK" itself otherwise the incorrect reference point will be entered.
NOTE: If you are having real trouble seeing anything, shine a torch from the front to make it easier.
If your Touchscreen resets happily, you are certainly well positioned for the backlight to give the ol' girl a new lease of life.
Replacing the backlight gives you a bright screen again so you can see the selections as they were when the machine was new, it is a dramatic improvement when that is the only issue.
If that is all good, then "Add to Cart" so we can send you your screen and get you back up sewing again !!
If your Touchscreen does not reset happily, you are likely to have a more serious issue.
Unfortunately, as with all things, Touch Screens and Circuit Boards do eventually fail but we may still be able to help, so do drop us a line.
Please Contact Us, if you have any further questions or wish us to send you a more extensive Self Diagnostic Routine to try to pinpoint more complex troubles.
Please give as much detail as you can regarding the troubles or request. We answer many questions each day, so please be specific and remember to mention your model and the issue.

You may well be able to keep the Janome machine you love, just by replacing the old dark screen so you can once again see and access all the stitch options. It is far more cost effective than buying a new machine and is a great way way to have many more years from your old faithful MC 8000 or MC 5700.
We include the Installation Instructions from the Original Janome MC 8000 or MC 5700 Service Manual so you can decide whether you wish to do it yourself or ask a handy friend.
We will email the instructions to you before we post your new LCD Screen, so you can get familiar with what is required before your LCD screen arrives by Registered and/or Insured post........too easy !!
It is not a difficult job if you have some simple tools and feel confident to follow the comprehensive instructions for accessing and changing the Janome LCD Backlight Panel screen.
If you think it might be a little tricky and would prefer to have your own local technician do the work for you, you will be able to give them the LCD Screen installation instructions confident that they are from the Janome Original Service Handbook.

Of course, you will need to discuss their charge for installing it for you, but you really can probably do it yourself or enlist the services of a reliable friend, or family member........once you have your Janome back in action, there will be so many ways you could use it to repay their labours !!

Bargain box service.was great, parts are.better than the original and instructions were spot on.

Having had the new backlight installed into my machine, it is now very easy to read and use. Without this easy fix the machine would have been destined for the rubbish bin. This makes it as good as new again. Fantasic service and communication, I have already recommended this fix to someone :-)
